    Jessica Gavin

The main message I want my art to communicate to viewers is the self-view or appearance of an individual expressing their identity. These images are of an individual still finding themselves and who they want to be/are, therefore their appearance changes or becomes ambiguous.

Being a young female there are constant pressures about your appearance from society and at an age where you are still trying to figure out who you are or want to be. It becomes a time in your teenage years where you attempt to figure out who you are by not conforming to the boundaries of any one identity. I am and have been experiencing this throughout my recent teenage years as I am progressively heading into adulthood.”
